The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between teacher salary and collective bargaining in the United States. In 1962, teachers successfully concluded a collective bargaining agreement with school board in the States. This had set a trend to change the school organization from a bureaucratic model into a professional one. In most states, nowadays, collective bargaining process is used to establish a professional model,with which the teachers union has requested the expansion of bargaining range to increase their influence.
